Congratulations to the Winners of the 2016 CWA ScholarshipFirst Place – Widya A. Ramadhani and Wan Wan Shao
Widya Ramadhani is in her final year of Master if Architecture program at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. She has a special interest in architecture and it’s relation to human health and wellbeing. She is also enjoy writing and doing research related to participatory design method in architecture and social behavioral factors in design. She hopes to continue her passion in healthcare architecture and research after her graduation in May next year.
Wanwan Shao is a second year student in Master of Architecture at university of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Her concentration is on cultural architecture and health care architecture design. Being involved in many events with people from various cultural backgrounds in academic and professional work, voluntary work and conferences, she is experienced in adapting herself in a global environment. She hopes to pursue a career in architecture design in the States after her graduation in May next year.
Second Place – Hsu Myat Aung
Hsu Myat Aung is an international student from Thailand and currently studying at UIC . She is Vice President of AIAS chapter at her school and loves traveling and photography during her free time. She always believes in helping people through Architecture, and that’s why she went to Haiti in the summer to introduce sustainable building materials to the community.
About the CWA Scholarship
Each year Chicago Women in Architecture awards a scholarship to a female student in the last year of studies, with an outstanding Design Studio Project. The Scholarship is awarded at the annual CWA Holiday Party, where her author presents the winning entry.
Applicants must be female architecture students with a M. Arch or a five year B. Arch Degree from a NAAB Accredited Architecture Program in the State of Illinois. There is no limit of student submission per school.

Jury team will be composed by CWA Executive Board members, Board of Directors members, and recognized architecture practitioners.
CWA will award $4000 in Scholarships this year; Winners will also receive a one-year membership to Chicago Women in Architecture, along with two tickets for the Spring Brunch event. The winning project will be featured in detail at the CWA website. IDP credits will be available. 
– First Prize : $ 3,000
– Runner Up(s) : Total of $1,000 *
*It is up to the discretion of the jury to determine number of runners ups. The total amount will be divided to the runner up(s).
