Chicago Women in Architecture Foundation

Mission

Chicago Women in Architecture Foundation (CWAF) provides educational funding to assure that women are influential leaders in the development of the built environment without gender bias.

History

Initially driven by a desire to formalize a scholarship program, Chicago Women in Architecture Foundation was established in 2003 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Today, CWAF’s support also extends to fundraising for events and special projects that further careers for women in and around the field of architecture. Signature CWAF initiatives include the Gertrude Lempp Kerbis Scholarship and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

As it was through the transformational gift from the family of CWA Founder, Gertrude Lempp Kerbis, that enables CWAF to sponsor its annual juried student scholarship, the organization continues to seek support from donors to further its mission.

All or part of donations and sponsorships may be tax-deductible as a charitable contribution.
